Intraoral Scanning
For over a century, the only way to make crowns, bridges, dentures, and other dental appliances was with a physical impression. Some sort of putty would be inserted in the mouth and held in place for several minutes. Sometimes, there would be an air bubble or another error in the impression, which would require starting the process over again!
Today, we have a new solution for most applications, intraoral scanning. We are proud to now offer this service with our 3Shape Trios 4 scanner, one of the finest scanners available today. It uses a specialized camera in the mouth to take a set of high resolution photographs that are then stitched together in a computerized model. Intraoral scanning is more accurate than impressions, more pleasant for our patients, and allows for a faster turnaround time from the lab.
